CSTP 5 Assessing Students for Learning
This year, I wanted to focus on CSTP 5: Assessing Students for learning. It was my greatest are of need when I started as an intern teacher.

Strength 1
-
Reviewing data, both individually and with colleagues, to monitor student learning
-
As a result of induction, I have been able to create systems that allow for better data collection. Furthermore, my paraprofessionals have also been involved with this system. .
-
Strength 2
-
Using assessment information to share timely and comprehensible feedback with students and their families
-
-
This data collection has allowed me to write better IEP present levels and goals. Furthermore, it has allowed my students to be more involved with the IEP process.
-
IMPROVEMENT

Currently, my greatest area of improvement would be involving my students with their own self-assessments and goal monitoring. When students see the purpose behind the assessments, it allows them to understand the importance. I plan to expand my current systems with utilizing student folders.
GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT

My biggest accomplishment during induction was becoming a stronger IEP writer. This has allowed for me to become a better special education teacher. By utilizing assessments, I have been able to create realistic and achievable goals for my students.
